ATLANTA, October 4th 2024 – Speedy Stop, LLC a convenience store chain with locations across South, Central, and East Texas, has chosen NCR Voyix (NYSE: VYX), a global leader in digital commerce solutions, to revolutionize its in-store technology infrastructure.
Speedy Stop faced significant challenges with site downtime due to the reliability issues of their incumbent payment and fuel management hardware. Additionally, their existing infrastructure, constrained by an out-of-the-box point-of-sale (POS) solution, lacked the flexibility needed for optimal performance. A robust POS system is essential for managing sales transactions, inventory, and customer interactions efficiently, acting as the brain of the store.
To address these challenges, Speedy Stop sought a more flexible, resilient, and future-proof infrastructure without the need for a costly full POS hardware replacement. They required a software vendor that was hardware agnostic and experienced in virtualizing other retail vendor POS systems. Furthermore, they desired an innovative partner capable of delivering a platform that could seamlessly adapt and integrate new applications and services for future needs.
“We appreciate the time NCR Voyix has invested in understanding our store infrastructure. We’re excited about how their platform will not only enhance performance both on the fuel forecourt and in-store but also provide a flexible foundation for adding new capabilities in the future,” said Josh Teinert, President of Speedy Stop.
NCR Voyix has deployed a comprehensive suite of software solutions for Speedy Stop, including NCR Voyix Edge, POS software (RPOS), Kitchen Product and Management System (KPS & CSS), Analytics, and NCR Voyix’s next-generation self-checkout technology. NCR Voyix successfully virtualized Speedy Stop’s existing Verifone POS and site controller hardware by decoupling the software from the hardware. This virtualization extends to the POS, Site Controller, and all peripherals, leveraging the software’s unique capabilities to integrate seamlessly with the existing hardware stack. Speedy Stop will now run NCR Voyix’s latest POS software on their incumbent Verifone hardware.
“Our software-first approach allows us to integrate with existing hardware while delivering a cutting-edge software platform. This will empower Speedy Stop to run their stores with the speed and efficiency of a digital channel while maximizing uptime, enhanced resilience and superior security,” said Eric Schoch, Executive Vice President and President of Retail, NCR Voyix.
Key Benefits:
· Save Money: By using software to virtualize their systems, Speedy Stop doesn’t need to buy new POS and peripheral hardware, which means big savings.
· Stay Up and Running: With the Intelligent Control Plane running in the cloud, Speedy Stop can quickly spot and fix issues remotely, keeping everything running smoothly both at the pumps and in-store.
· Ready for the Future: The NCR Voyix platform is flexible, allowing Speedy Stop to easily add new applications and features whenever they’re ready.
· Grow Faster: As Speedy Stop opens new stores, NCR Voyix’s adaptable technology makes it easy to set up and expand quickly.
